PARANOIC MIND

Trembling windows, pulse in the head
You dread each night and fear each day
You see their long shadows and hear creaking steps
Your cringing face drips beads of sweat
They surround you, approaching, encroaching
Breathless and still, your body is frozen
Reality is fake with a visible seam
You try to escape living in your dream

Trembling windows, pulse in the head
With every shadow you feel the chill of death
Every resonant sound cuts through your ears
You’ve felt the cold since decaying years
You trust your world to the unsteril sting
In your nightmare life, a pause it brings
Tired of silence, tired of scream
You try to escape to the pleasant dream

Trembling windows, faint pulse in the head
You were able to conquer fear and death
You were a stranded bird afraid to fly
You would rather die, wouldn’t even try
Thrown in convulsion, muscles clenching tight
Body dying, no denying, loss of speech and sight
A flash of regret, a final heartbeat
You are becoming a shadow erased from reality.
